COFFEE TALK

May 31, 2016

LOVING: Right now I am loving Summer. I am not usually one for the hot weather, but luckily, I work inside all day, and then get to enjoy the outdoors as temperatures cool in the evenings. I also think having a pool this year where I live has helped. I have a healthy glow now from the sun and the salt water pool is beyond refreshing. I am also loving iced coffees and smoothies right now.

WATCHING: I am watching The Bachelorette (starting tonight actually), and The Game on Netflix. The Game is actually pretty corny for my liking, but it's something new and different. I am really discouraged by The Mindy Project (MINDY + DANNY 4 EVER!), but I keep watching. I love her quick wit, so I am staying faithful.

EATING: Healthier foods and less junk!

FEELING: I feel like life is surreal. I know I say it about 13985889239 times a day, but I cannot believe I am turning 30!

READING: Rising Strong by Brene Brown and also the news online.

THINKING ABOUT: Ways I can beat my co-workers in a monthly weight loss challenge. The person to lose the most weight at the end of each month gets the pot of $$ we put in. How motivational is that?!

LISTENING TO: A lot of new country has come up on my Spotify app. I basically love Cale Dodds, Drew Baldrige, and Russell Dickerson. Check them out!

THANKFUL FOR: My awesome co-workers and friends who have been supporting me these last few weeks. Everyone has been encouraging me with my 60 Day Challenge to not spend frivolously, and now with weight loss everyone has just been on board with helping keep my healthy habits!

Happy Tuesday, xx. I hope everyone had a wonderful, restful, and thoughtful Memorial Day!

MAY GOALS

May 5, 2016

May has hit me like a ton of bricks. So, next month I am turning 30! How did this happen? I am so not ready for this.

As usual I wanted to set my goals for May. But first, let's go over my goals from April and see how we did, shall we?

APRIL GOALS:

Grocery shop and cook at least 3 meals per week. Did this inconsistently.
Work out at least 2 days a week.
Consistently tithe.
Read and finish at least one book this month. Started reading Rising Strong, but haven't finished.
Create a budget for debt reduction goals.
Get a key holder for the entryway. Not necessary.
Get a rug for the entryway. Not necessary.
Purge clothes and home items for Spring cleaning.

MAY GOALS:

Join the gym and go to two classes per week.
Eat healthier.
Create a budget for debt reduction goals.
Tithe.
Start utilizing my daily devotional more.
See family to celebrate May/June birthdays! :)

So, I realized something about my goals. One, I have too many. Two, they are almost always the same. Three, I almost never complete them. Grace, right?!

I am all about goals and pushing yourself to be better, but I also want to be realistic about what I can do right now. You may have read my post about the 60 Day Challenge I am doing. I am not supposed to be purchasing anything but necessities for 60 days. So far, it's been hard, and it hasn't been perfect. I will say I am spending way less frivolously, which is the whole point.

I will have two days off next week, so I plan to wake up and work out both of those days. I also have football coach at work that is willing to train me and some of my co-workers, so I am really looking forward to that. He should get us in shape in no time!

What are your goals for May?

Happy Thursday, xx.
